BridgeWay is seeking a passionate and gifted Worship Minister to lead our congregation in Christ-centered, Spirit-led worship. This person will be responsible for cultivating a church-wide culture of worship that honors God, inspires the church, and develops a thriving worship team. The Worship Minister will lead themselves with spiritual discipline, lead the worship team with excellence, and lead the church in engaging, transformative worship experiences. They will embody our vision of being a church without walls.
Core Responsibilities:
Leading Yourself
- Maintain a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus through prayer, Scripture, and worship.
- Exhibit a lifestyle of integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity.
- Demonstrate a high degree of musical skill.
- Pursue personal and professional development in worship leadership and ministry.
Romans 12:1 – "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."
Psalm 19:14 – "May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."
Leading the Worship Team
- Oversee Production Director (part time)
- Oversee Student Worship service alongside Student Minister (Wednesday nights)
- Embody worship team values: 1) Servants, Not Stars 2) Faithful, Not Flawless 3) Kin, Not Competitors
- Recruit, develop, and disciple musicians, vocalists, and tech team members.
- Foster a team culture of excellence, unity, and servant-hearted leadership.
- Plan and lead weekly rehearsals, ensuring musical and spiritual preparation.
- Encourage and mentor emerging worship leaders within the church.
1 Corinthians 14:40 – "But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way."
Colossians 3:23-24 – "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward."
Ephesians 4:11-12 – "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up."
Leading the Church in Worship
- Design and lead worship services that invite the congregation into authentic encounters with God, worshipping in spirit and truth, with heart, soul, mind, and strength.
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure worship aligns with the church’s vision; taking special care to infuse theologically rich content in worship.
- Engage the congregation in worship, fostering participation and spiritual growth.
- Utilize creativity and appropriate worship expression.
Psalm 95:1-2 – "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song."
John 4:23-24 – "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth."
Additional Responsibilities
- Oversee Production Director
- Coordinate with other ministry leaders for special services, events, and seasonal programs.
- Manage the worship ministry budget and resources wisely for maximum impact and growth.
- Support the overall mission and vision of the church through collaboration and service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Embody the qualifications of a pastor/elder according 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- A deep love for Jesus and a passion for leading others in worship.
- Strong musical ability (vocal and instrumental) with a heart for spiritual leadership.
- Experience leading worship in a church setting (3-5 years).
- Experience with worship technology, including Planning Center, ProPresenter, and audio mixing.
- Ability to recruit, train, and mentor musicians and vocalists.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A team player with a humble, servant-hearted attitude.
- Formal theological or musical training, or equivalent experience
- Multi-instrumentalist is preferred
