Job Description:
Seeking a full-time Student Ministries Pastor to oversee our ministries to junior high and high school students. We seek an individual who is a mature follower of Jesus Christ with at least a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, youth ministry or equivalent. Must have a clear calling to pastoral ministry, love students, evangelism, teaching and preaching, and work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Weekly
- Provide and manage weekly teaching needs.
- Participate in weekly staff meeting.
- Brief check-in meetings with volunteers each week.
- Meet with students outside of church events to build relationships.
- Interact with the Creative Director for updates to website, written materials, and other communication needs.
Camps & Attractional Events
- Arrange, manage, and attend one annual camp experience.
- Plan and conduct monthly events that are attractive to unchurched students.
- Develop a social media strategy and a team to run it.
Leadership Development
- Seek out students and volunteers to produce interns, leaders, and future ministers. Provide instruction and opportunity for growth and development.
- Build strong volunteer teams. Coach, equip, and pastor them.
Teaching and Preaching
- Schedule a teaching plan and curriculum that maps out the year ahead.
- Be the primary teacher over student ministries but not the only teacher. Develop and raise up others for teaching but be the primary voice of the ministry.
- Occasionally preach in main church services.
Qualifications:
- An undeniable faith in Jesus as your Savior.
- An evangelistic heart and passion for working with students.
- College graduate with a degree in Bible, theology, youth ministry, or equivalent.
- Experienced in discovering and raising up new leadership.
- Solid administrative skills.
- Skilled in social media development.
- A team player seeking the good of the whole church, not just student ministries.
Salary:
