The role of the Senior Pastor is to oversee the life, ministry and vision of the church. Along with the Council and Leadership Teams of the church, the Pastor will provide vision and equip the church to grow in its mission to be Connected in Christ, Serving in the Spirit and Growing in New Life Together. Responsibilities include:
Preparation: Prayer (His/her life should be a reflection of a deep prayer life); Study (maintain a regular program of study); Plan (prepare for and conduct meaningful worship experiences.)
Preaching: Pastor should preach boldly the Word of God, proclaiming the Gospel in an inspiring, relevant way.
Shepherding: Pastor should be aware of the needs of the congregation and actively involved in caring for them through visits, counseling, prayer and investing in the health, wellness and growth of individuals in the church As needed, he/she will perform weddings, baby dedications, baptize new believers and conduct funderals.
Leadership Development: The Pastor will focus on identifying, calling and developing leaders in the church.
Staff oversight: Pastor will be responsible for ongoing oversight of all church staff (paid and volunteer, supporting, encouraging, appreciating and challenging them in their respective calling.
Administration: Pastor is responsible for setting forth ethe vision for the church and making sure the program/ministry planning is in line with the mission and vision of the church.
